Ducati's 'Expedition Masters' Travel Programs Are the Ultimate Dream Getaway
Imagine embarking on an adventure that combines breathtaking landscapes, thrilling rides, and unforgettable experiences – that's exactly what Ducati's Expedition Masters offers. If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast with a spirit for exploration, these travel programs might just be the ticket to your dream vacation.
Each year, various motorcycle manufacturers and tour operators unveil exciting travel programs that seem to improve in quality and appeal, drawing the attention of avid riders. For instance, Eagle Rider takes you on scenic journeys through Alaska, BMW offers thrilling rides across Chile, Royal Enfield explores the enchanting terrains of Morocco, and KTM guides adventurers through the stunning landscapes of New Zealand, where the charm of Hobbiton awaits. Yet, amidst all these fantastic options, Ducati’s Expedition Masters stands out as the pinnacle of adventure riding, featuring a collection of breathtaking destinations that truly feel like items straight from a bucket list.
This year's offerings are no exception. In fact, one destination—beautiful Iceland—is already on my personal bucket list. If there’s ever been a time to sign up for Ducati's Expedition Masters, it’s now, as every destination promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Plus, you'll get to experience these adventures on Ducati's incredible motorcycles!
Discovering Ducati's Expedition Masters
Ducati expresses its mission beautifully: "Enriching the lives of enthusiasts through unforgettable experiences on a Ducati. This is the ethos that motivates the esteemed Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer to create a world filled with opportunities for Ducatisti to relish the sheer joy of riding." They further elaborate that the Expedition Masters program is a distinctive travel initiative crafted for the most adventurous riders, granting them access to explore some of the planet's most striking, untouched locations aboard Ducati motorcycles.
So, what thrilling adventures await you?
To kick things off, there's the quintessential Ducati journey through Italy. In honor of the brand's centennial, riders will traverse a remarkable 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) over eight days, starting at Misano during World Ducati Week. Your adventure will take you to iconic cities like Venice, the breathtaking Dolomites in Cortina d'Ampezzo, and exhilarating mountain passes such as Pordoi and Stelvio, culminating at Lake Garda, Verona, and Mantua, before returning to the home base in Borgo Panigale. Here, you’ll have the chance to tour the illustrious Ducati museum, making for an absolutely thrilling experience.
If Northern Italy doesn’t capture your heart (as a Sicilian, I can relate), consider heading south for the Futa Pass to the Amalfi Coast expedition. This also spans 1,800 kilometers, where you’ll ride Ducati’s Multistrada V2 and V4 models through stunning locales including Florence, Siena, Rome, and the picturesque Amalfi Coast—though sadly, they can’t promise a surprise encounter with George Clooney. The winding mountain roads and breathtaking views are legendary, and having visited this area myself, I can assure you it’s a sight to behold. Riding through the bustling streets of Rome would be an exhilarating experience, especially after only having navigated the city on a scooter or while piloting a Ferrari!
An Epic Journey Across the American West
Another captivating option takes you on a journey across the American West, commencing in San Francisco and concluding in Yellowstone National Park. This lengthy expedition is no small feat, stretching around 3,000 miles. Riders will navigate Ducati’s Multistrada lineup, traveling from the Pacific coastline to remarkable landscapes like the majestic Sequoia and Yosemite forests, the expansive vistas of Utah and Idaho, the arid deserts of Nevada, the sprawling plains of Wyoming, and the historic gold mines in Oregon. This ride promises to be a true test of endurance and spirit, likely qualifying participants for an Iron Butt award!
However, for me personally, nothing compares to Ducati's Iceland trip, which has long been a dream destination. Though the shortest of the journeys at 1,500 kilometers, Iceland is renowned for its otherworldly beauty, featuring glaciers, volcanoes, fjords, towering mountains, black sand beaches, and lush green plains. It’s a location so stunning that it served as a backdrop for the film Rogue One! Travelers participating in this adventure will ride the DesertX equipped with off-road tires, and I can hardly contain my excitement at the thought of it. This is the kind of experience that stays in your dreams long after it’s over, and if you’re fortunate enough to go, you’ll likely reminisce about it for years to come.
You should also know that Ducati is collaborating with AGV and Dainese to provide adventure gear and helmets for participants, alongside ATPI Motorsport Travel, which will handle all logistical arrangements. Each adventure package includes accommodations in luxurious, high-end facilities, cultural immersion experiences tailored to the regions visited, and comprehensive professional photo and video services. That’s pretty amazing!
These experiences fill up quickly, so if you’re keen on joining one of these remarkable adventures, head over to the Ducati Expedition Masters website and secure your spot right away. Meanwhile, I’ll be pondering just how much I need to sell to make that Iceland trip happen!
