Hailey Bieber's Hilarious Reaction to Trevor Noah's Joke at the 2026 Grammys (2026)

Hailey Bieber's Response to Trevor Noah's Justin Bieber Joke at the 2026 Grammys

Trevor Noah Stepping Up as Host for the Sixth and Final Time—But There's a Twist!

Trevor Noah has always brought his distinct flair to music's most prestigious night, the Grammys. As he hosted the event for the sixth and last time, he kicked off the 2026 Grammys on February 1 with a monologue that may not have been filled with sharp jabs, but was certainly brimming with enthusiasm and admiration for the incredible talent present at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. (Check out all the celebrities who graced the red carpet at this year's Grammy Awards.)

During his lively introduction, Noah made a special mention of Justin Bieber, who was nominated for Album of the Year. He referred to the pop star as nothing short of a hero, eliciting laughter from Hailey Bieber.

"Look who's back—Justin Bieber is in the house!" Noah exclaimed. "This man has achieved so much; his album 'Swag' received four Grammy nominations. But more importantly than any award, he has embraced his new role as a dad. Congratulations to you both!"

However, Noah added a humorous twist regarding what he deemed Bieber's most heroic act of the past year. "My favorite thing Justin has done recently is when he asked Apple to relocate the dictation button on their keyboard," he joked. "That’s true heroism, Justin! Now, if only you could also convince them to create a feature that helps us find things when we search on our phones! Please, we need your help on that."

Hailey was quick to burst into laughter at this light-hearted banter.

Noah didn't stop there; he turned to Hailey, the founder of Rhode Beauty, and playfully asked, "By the way, do you have a discount code for your lip tint? I could really use it—but let’s chat later about it!" If Hailey and Pharrell Williams, who is currently the creative director for Louis Vuitton menswear, manage to provide Noah with those discount codes, he will certainly be ending his hosting career in style.

At 41, Noah, who is also a four-time Grammy nominee himself (nominated this year for Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording for his work 'Into the Uncut Grass'), has never leaned fully into the roasting style often seen at award shows. Instead, he tends to highlight the fun aspects of the artists’ remarkable achievements while occasionally slipping in comments about politics or global events. For instance, last year he likened Taylor Swift's fanbase to "an army of Kendrick Lamars," underscoring their immense influence.

In a previous interview, Noah expressed his enthusiasm for the Grammys: "I am 1,000 percent a fan. Each time I attend, I find myself becoming a fan of a new artist. What many don’t realize is how much effort goes into these performances—making sure every key is hit perfectly, every light cue is on point, and choreographing the moves between the cameras and the performers. You truly appreciate the artistry when you see it from behind the scenes, which enhances my enjoyment of the show even more."

While Taylor Swift is absent from this year's nominations (her album 'The Life of a Showgirl' will be eligible next year due to its October 3 release), Kendrick Lamar tops the nomination list for 2026 with an impressive nine nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for 'GNX', as well as Record and Song of the Year (with SZA) for "Luther", Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for his collaboration with SZA on "30 for 30", and Best Rap Song for "tv off", featuring Lefty Gunplay.

Interestingly, according to Ben Winston, the executive producer of the Grammys, there were moments when 2025 could have marked Noah's final year as host. The author of 'Born a Crime' had initially stated he would be in South Africa during the 2026 ceremony.

"He told me, 'I'm going to be home for a bit, so I definitely can't do it,'" Winston recounted on CBS Mornings. "After five years, he said he loved it, but I was genuinely upset because I enjoy working with him. He's intelligent, funny, and he handles it all very well, even when I'm frantically directing him through his earpiece."

Winston mentioned he explored a few other options for hosting before realizing how much he wanted Noah back for the final show. "I sent him a video showcasing the lineup and said, 'Look at who we have for the show.' I emphasized, 'The only thing missing is you,' and it felt like I was waiting forever for his response."

Ultimately, Noah decided to return for one last performance, provided that this edition would indeed mark the end of his hosting journey.

Winston expressed his delight, saying, "I'm thrilled because he brings something essential to a night like this."

In addition to the excitement surrounding the show, let's take a moment to celebrate the winners already recognized at the 2026 Grammys!
